Privacy
Updated
Short version: we don’t ask for your details and we don’t know who you are. We only set analytics cookies if you say yes.
Who we are
Sensible Prepping UK is run by Sciuridae Labs Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17213331. Its registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. Sciuridae Labs Ltd is the data controller for this site.
For anything about privacy, email info@sciuridae.io.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no newsletter pop-ups.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies, so we ask first. Until you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, nothing from Google loads and no cookies are set. If you click “Reject”, that’s the end of it.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies called _ga and _ga_5HVHT7VWGX. They let it tell a returning visitor from a new one. We see totals, like how many people visited a page and roughly where from, never who. We don’t use them for ads.
You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies.
Your choice itself is kept in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie, so we can remember not to ask again.
The calculator and your ticks
The numbers you put into the calculator stay in your browser. They show up in the page address, so you can bookmark or share your list, but they’re never sent to us.
When you tick a line, your browser remembers it on your own device, so the tick is still there next time. That’s stored in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie, and we never see it. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Links to Amazon
Links marked “Ad” go to Amazon. Once you’re on Amazon, its own privacy notice and cookies apply. Amazon tells us which products were bought through our links so it can pay us, but not who bought them.
Our host
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, it handles basic request details, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
Your rights
You have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to ask what we hold about you (for this site, nothing). If you’re unhappy with how we handle data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
