Storm
A storm is on the way and the Met Office has issued a warning.
Storms can bring power cuts and flooding, so the same kit does the job.
Updated
Do now
- Check the forecast and any warnings for your area.
- Bring in or tie down anything the wind could pick up, like bins and garden furniture.
- Charge your phone and your power bank.
- Check your flood risk if you live near a river or the coast.
- If you're told to leave, go.
Check on
- Older neighbours, and anyone who lives alone, before the storm arrives.
Don't
Don't: walk or drive through flood water. It can be deeper and faster than it looks.
Don't: ignore an evacuation instruction. Follow it straight away.
Don't: go near fallen power lines. Stay well away and call 105.
Call 999 if someone is in immediate danger.
